"You're a hooker, you hooker."

Massive brownie points if you know where that quote comes from.

Hurts so good

I now look forward to watching Jeremy Renner on The Unusuals every Wednesday, and today I got a double dose with The Hurt Locker trailer. He's semi reprising his soldier role in 28 Weeks Later, and semi just rockin' it in a completely new way. Don't know too much about the film other than what you see, and that it's about a Explosive Ordinance Disposal team stationed in Iraq. Even if it's bad (which luckily is not what I'm hearing from the internet gods on high), I'll still watch it, because I'm at the point in my onscreen relationship with Renner where I'll pretty much watch him do anything. (Except, anyone see North Country? He very much disturbed me in that...)

Easy Money

Anyone else think maybe that's Soderbergh drumming at the end? I'm probably grasping at straws. I have to say apart from the poster, I might be losing interest in this movie...

It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Tilda Swinton is finally playing a slutty drunk, and we all knew the time would come. Long gone are the days of sexually nauseating romps with Ewan McGregor. Now she's into vodka shots and kidnapping. I don't think I've ever seen her look so feminine, have you? I have to say though, she was the only good part of the Narnia reboot.

Gretels and the Money Hungry Pig

I have heard nothing but glowing things about Treeless Mountain, but now that I've actually seen the trailer, I finally get a sense of what people are raving about.

I just hope I get to see it sooner than later!

On a different note, this looks pretty amazing too, but in a completely different way.

Pretty Pictures

I have to admit I kind of overlooked the news of Mark Romanek's upcoming film, Never Let Me Go, despite the fact that Keira Knightley was cast in it. But his gorgeous Twitpics have sparked my interest...

That, and the fact that I finally read the plot description:

An alternate history story of a woman who, as she reflects on her private school years in the English countryside, reunites with her two friends to face the dark secrets tied to their communal past.

Romanek has a new film? He is fantastic! he had a great disk in the PALM directors label box set that came out in 2005. His music video work is way stronger than his features, but this is pretty exciting...

I want to guess that your hooker quote comes from "How I Met Your Mother"...right/wrong?

Can't wait for The Hurt Locker, looks sensational.

It seems a bit disingenuous of Soderbergh to have cast a porn star in a movie about prostitution and then not see her have on-screen sex (real OR simulated) in the film itself. I will still see it, but it seems a bit cheap.

Mad Hatter, that's a good guess but the quote actually comes from "The Good Girl." It's pretty hysterical in context.

Actionman, I think Soderbergh might have been trying to make sure he didn't exploit the fact that she has sex on camera for a living? Maybe... I actually have no idea.

Although I found it odd to combine humour and police stuff, I really liked The Unusuals in the end! I'm so glad to discover such a wonderful and lovely actress in Amber Tamblyn. Anyway, I just can't wait to see all the secrets that Casey will find about her colleagues while trying to solve the murder of Walsh's (who is played in a damn good way by Jeremy Renner) former partner.

As for Tilda Swinton playing an alcoholic in Julia, not bad for someone who says she can't drink in real life.
